GOAL Foundation Board of Directors

From it's inception, the GOAL Foundation has been lead by an all volunteer group of community leaders who share a common passion and vision for Ogden and the people who make it wonderful. The GOAL Foundation Board of Directors are responsible to execute the vision and mission of the GOAL Foundation. While the GOAL Foundation Board is primarily responsible for fiduciary and governance issues, you will almost certainly find them working side by side with the Events Team and volunteers during our events to help ensure the success of the day. We are community partners who strive to lead by example.

TROY CALLANTINE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

As the Executive Director of the GOAL Foundation, Troy Callantine embodies the spirit of adventure and community engagement that defines the Greater Ogden Area. With a deep-seated love for the outdoors and a knack for fostering lasting relationships, Troy has seamlessly transitioned from a successful 20-year career in Real Estate to his current role. Born and raised in Ogden, Troy's roots run deep in the community. His passion for outdoor pursuits was cultivated early on, fueled by the abundance of recreational opportunities in the area. A graduate of Weber State University, Troy honed his skills and forged connections during his four-year tenure with Snowbasin Resort's race department, where he played an integral role in hosting Olympic and pre-Olympic events.

Favorite thing about GOAL – The ethos of the Olympics, with its emphasis on excellence, perseverance, and community, resonates deeply with Troy and serves as the driving force behind the GOAL Foundation's mission—to Get Out And Live. As Executive Director, Troy is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals throughout the Greater Ogden area by providing opportunities for active, healthy lifestyles and fostering a sense of belonging within the community.

Favorite Memory – One of Troy's favorite aspects of his role is witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of GOAL Foundation's initiatives on the community. Whether it's through organizing events like the Northern Utah Trailfest (affectionately known as The NUT) or the electrifying Finish Line Festival at the Ogden Marathon, Troy revels in the joy and camaraderie that permeate these gatherings.

How do you Get Out And LIVE – When he's not championing the GOAL Foundation's mission, Troy enjoys spending time with his family. Skiing adventures with his wife Becca and their two children, McCall and Miles, are a cherished tradition, providing endless opportunities for bonding and exploration. Thanks to the exhilarating mountain biking events by GOAL Foundation, Troy has also discovered a newfound passion for racing, further connecting him to Ogden's vibrant outdoor community.

Isabelle Geddes

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Isabelle is our marketing and communications guru, ensuring the word gets out about all GOAL events and volunteer opportunities. She works behind the scenes and the computer screen to create cohesive branding and messaging across both digital and print media. During race week, you’ll probably find her at the GOAL info tent or running around, taking photos, and feeding off that delicious race day energy!

Favorite thing about GOAL – I get to do what I love every day – merging the outdoors with work. It's inspiring to be part of a community that's all about embracing life and creating memories.

Favorite MemoryStill creating those! Every event brings a new adventure and a connection with the fantastic team, volunteers, and participants that make GOAL a blast. I'm excited to continue creating memories with GOAL and the Ogden community!

How do you Get Out And LIVEThe outdoors are my happy place, and I love adventuring! Whether it's surfing, hiking, snowboarding, climbing, or just hanging out with my favorite people, I'm all about making the most of life. Creating memories, exploring new places, and trying out different activities keep the excitement alive for me.

BROOKE THOMPSON

VOLUNTEER & PROGRAMMING MANAGER

Brooke oversees the volunteer program and works with community partners to manage our youth summer camps, actively aging senior outdoor activities, and outreach events. Whatever she can do to make sure things are running smoothly and to assist the team is her specialty! During event week, Brooke meets with all the volunteers and gets them trained, fed, and ready to rock their roles.

Favorite thing about GOAL – My favorite thing about GOAL is the community—we have the best! Whether it be locals who live their lives here daily or people who are only a part of it for a day, I feel lucky to be here.

Favorite Memory My favorite memory is getting to help lead hiking camp this summer. The kids who are part of our camps are incredible! It's so cool to get to see them grow and become more confident and build friendships through out the week. I'm excited to see where our programming is going to take us in the future! Tied with hiking camp is being at the Ogden Marathon finish line with my team and all of the incredible volunteers who help put it together as the last runner comes in. No matter the stress or crazy that may be happening behind the scenes, at that moment, they are the only thing that matters to everyone there and the goosebumps and tears can't be held back. It's magical. I'm grateful for the experiences I get to have thanks to GOAL.

How do you Get Out And LIVEI love hiking with my pups and husband, exploring markets, yard sales, antique stores, and concerts, visiting the tattoo parlor, and gardening. I enjoy hanging out with friends, dressing up, and having fun. I also love volunteering at the local car show, farmers market, supporting friends running for office, and helping other local nonprofits. My husband, Jon, and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and are excited to see what the next 10 years have in store for us!

ALEX DOCTA

EVENT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Alex wrangles all things operations logistics. Courses, layouts, fencing, parking flow, porta potties and much more. On race day, he'll hopefully be pulling around pedestrian fencing or some other physical task to burn off the stress of a well-run event!

Favorite thing about GOAL – COMMUNITY. I've lived in Ogden for just under 5 years now, but I love how tied into the community GOAL is. From the community giveback programs to striving to put on events that inspire folks to get outside and experience our amazing surroundings, GOAL has a keen eye towards building and sustaining a passion for the outdoors in our community.

Favorite Memory – At 0.1 years in, I consider this one YTBC (Yet To Be Created), but so far i've loved getting to know the staff, and all the great volunteers, city staff, police and firefighters that come together to make our Winter Running Series and Ogden Marathon possible.

How do you Get Out and LIVE – The outdoors is key to my mental health. I've been fortunate to grow up hiking, running, swimming, kayaking, hunting, and adventuring for the majority of my life. I truly wouldn't be the person I am today without both the outdoors and my partner in life, Nicole. I run ultra-marathon distance events, and use them as a future goal to hold myself accountable to the daily outdoor excursions that need to take place in order to finish those events. Movement is a means of freedom, and I try not to take it for granted.

CECILY KISS

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

Cecily helps coordinate and support our ambassador programs, sponsors, vendors, social media and much more to ensure our events run smoothly and we are connected and engaged within the community. On race day you can find her supporting our sponsors and vendors as well as making sure everyone is having a great time at the Finish Line Festival!

Favorite thing about GOAL – My favorite thing about GOAL is the community effort to fulfill GOAL’s mission and vision. Whether it’s staff, volunteers, participants, sponsors or partners, everyone plays their part to help reach the finish line and everyone has fun doing so! It’s so easy to feel the passion and drive from the community working on this team, it’s incredible!

Favorite Memory My favorite memory is being thrown into a WRS 5K event on my fourth day with GOAL. Seeing members of our community reach their goals with smiles on their faces, all the volunteers and sponsors helping coordinate a successful event, everyone cheering at the finish line, there is really no other feeling like it and I am so happy to be a part of such an amazing organization that brings joy to people’s lives through fun and fitness.

How do you Get Out And LIVECecily loves to eat, so whether you find her camping, on the trail, at a local restaurant, in the park or traveling, there’s a solid chance she has snacks with her. When she’s not out and about you can find her cooking or baking in her kitchen, spending time with her family, doing yoga, checking out all things spooky or reading a book.

KIRSTY JOHNSON

ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Kirsty is the backbone of our administrative operations, ensuring everything runs seamlessly. She oversees registration, procures high-quality merchandise, manages customer service, and maintains accurate financial records. On race day, Kirsty handles packet pick-up, manages the retail booth, and steps in wherever she's needed to ensure a smooth and successful event.

Favorite thing about GOAL – The sense of community! And being a part of an organization that provides folks with opportunities to join that community and to get outside.

Favorite Memory – In just one year of working with GOAL I've created so many incredible memories with our team and the whole GOAL community. One of my favorite moments was at the Northern Utah Trailfest, packing up with the team and volunteers on the Saturday evening, surrounded by beautiful mountains, to the awesome sounds of the closing band, Lee Rafugee.

How do you Get Out And LIVE – In the winter you’ll find Kirsty snowboarding at every possible opportunity. For the rest of the year, she loves to go hiking, camping, and backpacking, ride bikes, and swim or kayak in the nearest lake.
